Taking Product Photos

Find a spot near a window with natural light. Place your product on a clean, uncluttered surface — a plain white plate on a wooden table works great for food. Avoid overhead fluorescent lighting as it creates harsh shadows and unnatural colors.

Log in to your YSW Lab dashboard on your phone. Navigate to Menu, tap the item you want to photograph, and tap the camera icon next to the photo field. This opens your phone camera with composition guides optimized for menu photos.

Hold your phone directly above the dish at a 45-degree angle for the most appetizing look. For drinks, shoot straight-on at eye level. Make sure the item fills about 70% of the frame with some background visible for context.

Tap the shutter button to capture. Review the photo immediately — check that the colors look natural, the item is in focus, and there are no distracting elements in the background. Take 2-3 shots of each item and pick the best one.

After selecting your best photo, it uploads automatically to the menu item you were editing. If you need to photograph many items, you can also go to Menu > bulk upload photos and drag-and-drop multiple images at once, then assign each one to an item.
