Hardware Setup
Connect receipt printers, cash drawers, and other POS hardware
Check your device compatibility
1/6YSW Lab works on any device with a web browser — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. No special hardware is required to get started. For the best experience, we recommend a tablet (10-inch or larger) mounted on your counter for easy order management.

Connect a Bluetooth receipt printer
2/6Any 58mm or 80mm Bluetooth thermal printer works with YSW Lab. Budget options like the PeriPage A6 or GOOJPRT PT-210 cost under $30. Turn on your printer, go to YSW Lab Settings > Printer > Scan for Bluetooth devices, and select your printer from the list.

Print a test receipt
3/6After pairing your printer, tap 'Print Test Receipt' in the printer settings. A sample receipt with your shop name and a few test items should print out. If the text appears garbled or cut off, switch between 58mm and 80mm paper width in your printer settings to match your actual paper size.

Set up a kitchen display (optional)
4/6If you have a spare tablet, mount it in your kitchen and log in with a Kitchen staff account. This tablet will show all incoming orders in real-time as a kitchen display system (KDS). Kitchen staff can tap orders to mark them as 'preparing' and 'ready' without walking to the front counter.

Connect a cash drawer and barcode scanner (optional)
5/6For retail shops, connect a Bluetooth cash drawer ($30-60) that opens automatically when you complete a cash payment. A Bluetooth barcode scanner ($15-30) lets you scan product barcodes to add items to an order instantly. Both pair the same way — through Settings > Hardware.

Recommended all-in-one devices
6/6For a clean single-device setup, consider the Sunmi V2 Pro (~$150) which has a built-in 58mm printer, barcode scanner, and NFC reader. Or the iMin D4 Pro (~$200) with a 10-inch screen, 80mm printer, and a customer-facing display. Both run Android and work perfectly with YSW Lab.
